A Great Big World, Andre 3000, Avril Lavigne, Cher Lloyd, Ciara, Future, Lamb Of God, Michael Jackson, Paloma Faith, Sean Kingston, The Script and many more famous bands and artists all signed up to the music label 'Epic'. Epic covers lots of genres including pop, rock and R&B. It was founded in New York, USA in 1953 from the parent company, 'Sony Entertainment'. When it was originally launched by CBS Records, Epic was a jazz music label. However in 1960 it grew to encompass all genres.
Epic is now in a 'new era' of signing artists, including the winners of X Factor. They now sign up YouTube sensations thanks to L A Reid becoming CEO of the company in July 2011.
