Analysis

This is a close up of an old fashioned photo from the 30’s/40’s. It is in black and white to show that it is old and all the people are dressed in the fashions of the time. This sets the tone for the rest of the video because it gives a vintage look and even shows the scene that the video will be about. The music that is playing sounds fuzzy because it sounds as though it is being played on a gramophone as it is in an elderly couple’s house. This shot is also part of a pan of all their old photos in the introduction.

This shot is only seen for a matter of seconds, so the audience only
really notice that the characters are posing for a photograph. The shot is
black around the edges to show what it looks like to the person holding the
camera. When the shot is stilled we can see that the character in the middle
(who is the male lead) is staring at the woman next to him (the female lead)
which shows his infatuation with her. They are all dressed in old-fashioned
clothing to show what time period they are in. what is interesting is that
none of the brothers are the main character. I think the reason for this is
to show that none of them is the ‘main one’ and also so that they can all be
in the performance at the end whilst the narrative carries on.

Analysis

This is a break in between the verses. It shows how time has gone on
through the video because the couple are now engaged/married and moving into
their own home with the help of their friends. It is a very sweet scene and
afterwards we see the couple in an embrace in their home as he kisses her. The
lighting looks natural and highlights the ring so it sparkles. It also looks
as though the couple are holding hands.

Analysis
|
This is in the final performance scene and the audience sees the
Jonas Brothers playing their instruments and wearing suits as most pop rock
bands do. They are showing that it is actually them making the music and they
are also dancing in an old-fashioned way to match the vintage-looking set.

Analysis
|
This is in a slow-motion instrumental just before the big finale
where the song turns rocky and has a fast beat. The couple are looking into each
other’s eyes and it is in slow motion so that the audience can see the little
sly looks they give each other while they dance. The woman’s face is lit up
while the man’s is in darkness. This highlights her and shows her as he sees
her, like he can see nothing else when she is around. When the music kicks in, all the crowd dance
faster and the singers play their instruments like they are rock stars by holding
them above their heads which brings this old-fashioned video back to modern day.
