My response to
media task.
1)
What were your initial impressions of the task?
Why?
It is not a subject which I am particularly
excited about doing. I think it will be difficult and if we need to get
permission from bands to use their songs.
I was really looking forward to making the documentary.
2)
What does the task entail?
A music video with either 2 of the
following: a website homepage, a cover as part of a digipak, a magazine
advertisement.
3)
In what order will you complete the task?
In the order required of me by the task
itself. I think it would be a good idea to choose my song, create the music
video and then create the Digipak so that some stills from the video may be
used in the Digipak.
4)
What excites you about it?
I am quite interested in creating a Digipak
because I like writing, finding out information and creating layouts.
5)
What problems do you envisage facing?
Getting permission to use songs (approved
websites have a very limited selection, sometimes the songs are just music and
have no lyrics. It is easier to perform a more well-known song because then you
can see what direction the band went in and get some guidance from there), when
working in small groups we need to agree on what we’re going to do, IT skills
in creating a homepage, recording every single thing we do.

What are your initial ideas?
I would like to do a rap video or dance
music if it’s possible to find a band because these are the genres of music
that I tend to listen to.
7)
What would you like to learn more about?
How to get exactly the correct marks, I
want to do well in this subject. To do this I will look at the mark scheme.
8)
What research will you do?
Watching music videos of different genres and
seeing how the video links to the song and what symbolism is in it.
